STRIKING 101 / FIRST-CLASS GUIDE
YOUR FIRST MARTIAL ARTS CLASS
Prepare for your first Striking 101 visit: choosing an academy, booking, clothing, equipment and questions to ask.
Book a free trial classChoose your academy first
Start with the location you can attend consistently. Forest Hills, Brewster and Striking 101 Brooklyn have separate introductory appointment calendars. Check the academy’s address and contact the local team about the full member schedule.
Choose the right starting session
Explain your previous experience, fitness goals and the discipline you want to explore. For children, give the academy their age and any needs relevant to participation. The children’s age group is 4–8 at all three current academies: Forest Hills, Brewster, and Brooklyn.
Complete the booking step
Follow your academy’s Spark booking flow and review the appointment details. Entering contact information is not the same as confirming an appointment; complete the calendar’s final booking step.
Pack and ask before you arrive
Wear clothing you can move in and bring water. Ask your academy about footwear, gloves, mouthguards and other equipment for your chosen session. Your first trial class is free. Ask the academy about cancellation or rescheduling terms.
Use the visit to make a decision
Meet the team and ask about beginner progression, supervision, schedules and membership options. Choose a training routine that fits your goals and your week.
